Quality Electric is Committed to Safety

Quality Electric of the Coastal Carolinas is showing its commitment to workplace safety through a number of trainings, workshops and opportunities for employee certification. The importance of workplace safety cannot be under estimated and Quality Electric understands that.

In December 2015, 10 electricians completed the OSHA Outreach 10-hour Construction course. In June 2016, all Quality Electric supervisors will attend the OSHA 30-hour Construction Training Course.

These OSHA Outreach courses assist employers in training and introducing employees to the basic practices of identifying, reducing, eliminating and reporting hazards associated with their work. Over the past three years, over 1.3 million students have received training through this program.

In January 2016, a company-wide three-hour safety training session was held to educate more than 45 field workers on lifting and fall protection.

David Smith, commercial senior project manager, just completed certification to be a trainer on the company’s forklift and ditchwitch, so that all employees can be trained on-site.

“We’re really increasing our efforts to keep our employees safe and ensure they are properly trained for all construction sites. We are committed to keeping pace with OSHA as they are continually improving their requirements,” Smith explains.
