Electrical Apprentices Earn First Place in Competition

Quality Electric of the Coastal Carolinas is committed to introducing new electricians to the field and is a participant in the Charleston Electrical Contractors Association (CECA) Registered Electrical Apprenticeship Program.

In the 2016 CECA Electricians Competition and Career Fair, two Quality Electric apprentices took home first place in their categories. Cody Dorothy won first place in the first year apprentice class and Timothy O’Connor took home first place in the second year apprentice class.

“Cody and Timothy are taking the apprenticeship program and their careers very seriously and clearly it show,” says David Smith, commercial senior project manager at Quality Electric.

The Registered Electrical Apprenticeship Program is a four-year program that combines classes at Garrett Academy of Technology with hands-on learning at Charleston-area electrical contractors, like Quality Electric. The program is designed to train the future workforce.

CECA is a group of local electrical contractors that gather together with a common goal, to better the electrical industry. Quality Electric has been a member for more than 25 years.
